Events Team Coordinator

SurfAid International is now seeking outstanding individuals to come onboard as an Events Team Coordinator in a volunteer capacity in the following regions:

•    SA
•    TAS
•    NT


Responsible for your region and reporting to SurfAid’s Development Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

•    Coordinating a SurfAid Street Team in your specific region

•    Identifying potential local fundraising opportunities

•    Planning and organising your team’s involvement at local events in which there exists a fundraising opportunity, as well as promoting SurfAid International with the assistance of your region’s volunteers

•    Assisting in recruiting motivated volunteers to be a part of SurfAid Street Team

•    Overseeing stall management at fundraising events

•    Receiving, storing and distributing SurfAid promotional materials to relevant volunteers for use at stalls or other promotional activities in your region

•    Holding regular meetings with your regions  SurfAid Street Team to receive feedback, brainstorm ideas and induct new Street Team members

•    Communicating on a regular basis  with SurfAid staff members, keeping them updated on event happenings and liaising with them throughout the planning of an event, as well as sharing success and best practice

•    Making sure all fundraising activities comply with legal requirements and OLGR requirements

•    Reporting on outcomes from a fundraising event for reporting purposes and provide recommendations for future events

•    Motivating and encourage team members

•    Handling and depositing any donations received for SurfAid International

•    Events Management assistance for Surfing Suits event in coordination with SurfAid Development Manager

You will need to have good interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and the ability to portray a positive image of SurfAid International to the public. The successful candidate will also be highly organised, motivated and posses effective communication skills.  You will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a desire to work with an inspirational and committed team.
Other Useful skills for this role may include:

•    Marketing, communications, PR , project management or events experience
•    Ability to approach the community for donations
•    Knowledge of local region and businesses
•    Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of volunteers
•    Being able to engage volunteers and encourage them to take part in events, as well as welcome their suggestions and input.
•    Enduring ability to follow up opportunities until results are achieved.

Volunteer SurfAid Street Team Member

SurfAid International is now seeking outstanding, dedicated individuals to come onboard as a Volunteer Street Team Member in the following regions;

•    NSW

•    QLD

•    VIC

•    WA

•    SA

•    TAS

•    NT

We need  people who are motivated, enthusiastic, hard working, charming, love talking to strangers, passionate about our mission and are able to spread the word about SurfAid International’s work as well as help out at events in the region!

Reporting to your Events Team Coordinator you will be involved in the following:

•    Assisting with the planning, organising and promoting of fundraising events and collections with other SurfAid Street Team Members in your region

•    Assisting in running a stall for SurfAid at an event in your region

•    Roaming events and handing out promotional material, as well as collecting donations on behalf of SurfAid International
•    Attending regular SurfAid Street Team meetings to discuss issues and identify potential fundraising opportunities
•    Encouraging your community and friends to run their own fundraising event to raise funds for SurfAid

•    Acting as an ambassador for SurfAid International through building community networks and talking enthusiastically about the work of our organisation

Your goals will be to:

•    Raise money to support SurfAid International’s programs

•    Raise awareness of and increase support for SurfAid International in your region

•    Build strong community networks

Your skills and abilities should include the following:

• Good communicator

• Strong organisational skills

• Honest and reliable

• Team player

• An interest in humanitarian work and the work that SurfAid International does, and an to ability represent SurfAid International to members of the public

• Passion and enthusiasm
