Aside from the huge undertaking of creating lasting improvements in health, two challenging aspects of running our grassroots nonprofit are getting the word out and fundraising. SurfAid's retail partners do both by giving potential supporters a way to learn more about the cause and contribute on the spot to SurfAid. Surfers Supplies, a core surf shop in Ocean City, NJ, recently donated over $2,000 they raised selling a vintage, restored surfboard. "With each board that is sold there is a little literature attached that describes the purpose for selling the board.
