The five founding members---Alani Aguerre, Marina Aguerre, Nicole Calandra, Emmet Pierson and Gracie Pierson---envisioned SurfAid Kids as a new way to support the SurfAid International mission,

Marina Aguerre explains her involvement with SurfAid Kids: "Adults in SurfAid have dedicated their lives to saving people in Indonesia, so why can't kids help too?"

Now they can.

Dear SurfAid International,

We are from Bullis Charter School of Los Altos, California, and found out about what your organization is doing to help the tsunami victims. We had an idea to start running a bake sale at our school every Thursday at lunch. Each class brings in baked goods and takes turns running the bake sale. We were able to raise $874.46 We hope by donating this money we are helping the tsunami victims.

Thank you,
Bullis Charter School

CONGRATULATIONS, BULLIS! WE ARE PROUD TO FEATURE YOU AS OFFICIAL SURFAID KIDS!

San Diego, CA I just finished making a donation to SurfAid.  Our seven year old daughter, Matilda, was the one who suggested we raise money by having a garage sale and sending money to the people in tsunami-hit regions.  We didn't have much for a garage sale so enlisted the help of friends, neighbors and the girls' schools.  Everyone it seemed chipped in and we raised $1300.  We have shared some of the money with a local La Jolla organization with a goal to rebuild an orphanage in Aceh.

Good luck with your admirable pursuits.

Lisa, Jim, Beatrix and Matilda

TERIMA KASIH OR "THANK YOU," MATILDA AND BEATRIX!

Dear SurfAid International:

Hello. My name is Eli Bensen and I just turned two years old. I had a birthday party and my friends came over and we played and ate a lot of cake. It was a very special day.

My Mommy and Daddy told me that there was a big wave that left a lot of people without homes or food or water. That made me sad. I am very blessed because I have food and water to keep me healthy and happy.

When I invited people to come to my party I asked them if they would bring money instead of gifts. I want to give that money to you so you can keep helping the people affected by the tsunami. My Mommy and Daddy told me that you do a lot to help people.

Please use this money to help the people...maybe even a little boy like me.

Thank you.

Love,

Eli Bensen

ELI, YOU ARE A STAR! HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM THE ENTIRE TEAM AT SURFAID INTERNATIONAL!
